First off-
Thanks to everyone that came to our Spring Conference. We think it was a great success. Hopefully everyone enjoyed the training and took some time to network with each other.
Retired FBI Agent Lisa Skinner is confirmed for the Fall conference. The training topic will be on Statement Analysis. For those of you that have received training from Lisa, you know she is a great instructor and a wealth of knowledge.
Stay tuned for all the details about our Fall Conference.
I would like to express my appreciation to all Internal Affairs Investigators for taking on an often daunting task. Internal investigations are about finding the facts, just like all other police investigations. But internal investigations are sometimes more difficult because we are dealing with our friends or our colleagues. The facts remain the facts, and that is why it takes a special kind of cop to be in IA.
GIAIA strives to provide the best, most current, most relevant training available, specifically targeting the educational needs of the internal affairs investigator. Secondly, but as important, are the networking opportunities provided to our membership. Associations made through conferences can provide invaluable information and perspectives that we can call upon year-round.
I want to thank you for the support the law enforcement community of Georgia and across the Southeast has offered to our association over the years, and I want to pledge that our Board will continue to provide high quality, skills-based training that you can take back to your agency and use in furtherance of your mission.
Please contact me or any member of the Board with any ideas you have regarding training subjects, speakers, or locations.
Respectfully,
Julie Bradley
