The President's award
Winner will be announced at the 2026 Fall Conference
The purpose of the President's award is to recognize those who have made significant contributions to the field of internal affairs and/or the Georgia Internal Affairs Investigator's Association.
Background: When the Georgia Internal Affairs Investigator’s Association was founded in 2000 by Cliff Tackett. It was important to have an award that recognized someone in the field of internal affairs or someone who had made significant contributions to the field of internal affairs and/or the Georgia Internal Affairs Investigator’s Association. At the inception of the association, one of the board members at that time was Rose Greene with the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office. Rose played a significant role in serving on the original board, giving her time to the association. Rose Greene passed away within a year of the association beginning, and therefore it was voted and approved by the board at that time to name the award after Rose Greene.
Cliff Tackett has seen the association grow and prosper during this time. As we carry on the growth and prosperity of this great association, it is only fitting and proper that the Rose Greene Award be renamed The President’s Award.
Purpose: The President’s Award will serve the same purpose as the Rose Greene Award but renamed so that the President will award the recipient each year for their contributions. The recipient will be voted on and approved by a majority of the board members.
Criteria: A written nomination must be submitted to the board no later than thirty days following the annual spring conference.
The name of the candidate submitted must be an active and POST-certified officer.
The candidate being considered must be involved with working internal affairs investigations.
The candidate can be a member of the association who has gone above and beyond their job description for a courageous event.
The candidate can be a board member or person who has served in an elected office of the association for their dedicated service to the association during the time that the candidate served.
The candidate can be anyone in the association who has regularly attended the association's conferences and deserves to be recognized for their contribution to the field of internal affairs.
